Your best defence against bugs this winter is a healthy immune system. We all have the potential for a strong defence against invading pathogens however we don’t all care for our immune systems as we should.
It is important to eat healthy food (primarily veggies), drink lots of water, and reduce stress and emotional turmoil. Reduce processed food and sugar intake, and get plenty of sleep. Acupuncture is also a valuable tool in boosting our immunity.
Research has shown that acupuncture can enhance the level of immune cytokines and splenic CD4+ T cells, which are of vital importance in human immune systems. These cells are referred to as ‘helper T cells‘ and are active in the immune system’s defence against microbes, including viruses.
