Dr Alexia Burgess

Osteopath & Clinic Director

MOst (UK) BA

Alexia is a very experienced osteopath, having practiced in clinics in both the UK and Australia.  She graduated with a Masters in Osteopathy from the prestigious British School of Osteopathy in London. Her training involved all aspects of osteopathy, including cranio-sacral, functional and visceral techniques, as well as firm manipulative techniques for use when appropriate.

She is renowned for her treatment of neck, back and hip/pelvis pain so commonly seen in everyday practice.  She is also accomplished at dealing with issues from knee pain, shoulder pain to headaches and planter fasciitis, working to get her patients out of discomfort and back to normal function as quickly as possible.  In her practice she regularly cares from all members of the family, from children (5years +) to professional athletes.

Finally, Alexia is also particularly interested in the mind-body connection and the impact this has on a patient’s presenting problem, including stress and its influence on chronic pain presentations.  Helping to address the psychological and social influences in our lives that may be holding us back from full recovery has seen her witness remarkable improvements in those with long term pain.

Alexia is the Principal Osteopath and Clinic Director of Restore Health & Wellness Newport and divides her time between Newport and St Leonards.

Dr Vanessa Fisher

BOst (UK)

Vanessa is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), London, UK.  After graduating with distinction, her skills as a clinical practitioner were considered in such high esteem by the BSO that she was invited to lecture there, which she did for 3 years prior to migrating to Australia. She has over 7 year’s clinical experience as an Osteopath, treating a range of patients from babies to adults, using a combination of structural, functional and cranial osteopathic techniques, ultrasound and myofascial needling.

In recent years, she has developed a special interest in the benefits of osteopathy for solving problems associated with pregnancy, babies and young children. As an ex-professional dancer who discovered the benefits of osteopathy after suffering an injury, Vanessa has a special association with performers and athletes and leading their rehabilitation.

Women’s health is a key area of interest, specifically helping women who wish to fall pregnant. Osteopathic treatment may help to create the optimum environment within the body to maximise a woman’s health for conception. Vanessa has helped many women during pregnancy, assisting with the postural adaptations within the spine and pelvis, preparing the body for labour and postpartum symptoms.

First and foremost, Vanessa is a passionate and dedicated practitioner, committed to delivering the best form of recovery and advice to all patients.

Vanessa is the founder and Clinical Director of The Willow Clinic in Allambie, and she divides her time between Allambie and Restore.
